Design Unbound

Design Unbound aims to follow a practice which is not tied up to the societal standards of aesthetics and beauty, but one which follows the principles of sustainable living- Making durable and comfortable houses, with natural or recycled materials, and striking aesthetic sensitivity. Through our practice, we seek to minimize the negative environmental impact of buildings by efficiency and moderation in the use of materials, energy, development space and the ecosystem at large. “The concept of a building for me is simple- I would not cut down the trees on the site; rather make my building around them. This for me was a wonderful concept.” Laurie Baker Design Unbound is a team of young and enthusiastic designers established by Akash Sharma and Sagar Kudtarkar in June 2021. Akash and Sagar are graduates of the University of Pune. The firm aims to collaborate with other studios or green building enthusiasts, to help design and execute sustainable design concepts. DESIGN We are grounded on the principles of sustainability and firmly believe that without being conscious of our own environment, we cannot move forward. Therefore every concept produced by Design Unbound reflects the core aspects of sustainable architecture – Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose, and Recycle. Our designs aim to be cost-effective while maintaining all the values that make our creations ecologically responsible. COLLABORATE Sustainability is a cause which can only be won united, and so, Design Unbound offers our expertise and skills, gathered over the years, to anyone looking to incorporate the philosophies of eco-friendly construction which leaves minimal impact on our environment. Well-versed in the concepts as well as practicalities of sustainable construction, the team can contribute significantly to designs that aim to be environmentally aware and ecologically conscious. PRODUCE Our philosophy at Design Unbound also views up-cycling as an important concept in furthering eco-friendly spaces and we intend to incorporate it into our designs. Our products will vary with purpose and range from interior design to household accessories, to suit the client’s needs while remaining true to our cause.
